Bug? with 10.11 Plasma/Plasmoids

I don't have a clue why it won't work. I have done over 300 installs
(mostly laptops) and I have never gotten it to work once without a lot
of hassles. I just solve it by installing "wicd"-- it has never failed
after I learned the trick of removing ALL references to network manager.
I always try to use the installation as it comes off the disk but so far
success has eluded me -- some day I will get smart and just remove it
from the git go. Any program that is that much trouble needs to be
scratched at its source. Maybe it is something in the installation
program. I don't have the time to scratch my almost bald head raw to fix it.
I just upgraded this laptop to Kubuntu 11.10 -- the network didn't work
plus it had a funky mouse behavior. I then installed Linux Mint and it
worked immediately -- everything out of the box. I had to reinstall
some programs and libraries; my panels were exactly the the same, my
wired and wireless connections worked. I wish someone would fix network
manager -- that is the only complaint I have for Kubuntu!
Sorry about the rant -- I am just sad and aggravated a great piece of
software has been allowed to be ruined by one crappy component.
Blessings,
Jon Piper
