Yes, I know Bas has grub-legacy but grub2 rescue cd will boot this up
okay. First boot up using this cd. Then we'll sort out clearing up your
boot/grub.

I send to you direct an iso file, named grubstand.iso. Burn iso image on
cd and when started up, you'll get to a grub prompt. Always good to
check with "search -f /vmlinuz" to get the partition of kubuntu. (note
(hd1,1) will be sdb1).

I've set up a grub.cfg file in that iso. To get to that menu type
configfile /grub.cfg then amend to your partition the entry and boot.

When booted, sudo update-grub" followed by "sudo grub-install /dev/sda"

If you dont have grub2 install, install by "sudo apt-get install
grub-pc" first. (follow instructions carefully, especially I think
convert from grub-legacy part)
