Yes, now that we know he has a faulty cd drive, maybe he should use your 
suggestion, but I wonder if he could even run livecd on his rom drive. 
Tough. A cdrom drive is very essential. I am out of ideas if he has this 
problem. He cannot even mount -o loop if can't get into any linux system.
