OK, clear, good that you mention this.

Before reinstalling the OS, I need to copy/ recover these files!
That's why I am wondering if I can get access to them via some other
distro if it I do not succeed to do so via the live CD of Kubuntu
9.10. There is no problem for me to produce life CD's of whatever
distro.

How can I find/ recognise files related to KAddressbook?

When using the live CD of Kubuntu, I can get access to everywhere,
except the partition with Kubuntu 9.10, where I have my most recent
files....That's why I am wondering wether the live CD of Knoppix or
the live USB from Puppy Linux or any other live version of some distro
can help me to rescue those data.

OK, I will try to do so tonight Central European time and share my
experience via this forum....

Warm greetings from a sunny spring Netherlands.
