"Unusable" would be a personal decision. I suspect with the advent of large
screens far viewer people use the larger virtual desktop than in the past,
but many people always chose to make the desktop larger than their screens,
and had little trouble with it. It never worked for me, though.

I came across a SATA-USB connector a few weeks back. I imagine they have
IDE-USB connectors, too. Handy.

I'm not quite sure what your problem is there. Konqueror always worked for
me in hardy. Just remove dolphin.
