Can't boot new kernel image

No, Myriam, I do have Hardy kde3.5.10 on 2.6.24-24 too and I have 
converted it to grub2. It is possible. I also have a dedicated 1st grub
(which I set to 1st sector or 'mbr') and I have that converted to grub2 
too using Karmic's files and kernels.
All are working fine.
