Good luck in your search.

Every fisherman in the history of the world has spent their entire lives
looking for the "ultimate lure". From the shear variety of lures on the
market I would guess that it has yet to be invented. If there was such a
thing as the "ultimate lure" it would be the only one out there.

There are some old "standbys" in fishing that make some sense. Maybe one
can help.

Match The Hatch. Look at what natural food source is available and use
something like they are naturally feeding on at the time.

Presentation. It's a natural response for a fish to strike at an injured
bait fish. Present the lure in such a way that it mimics an injured bait
fish.

Timing. Old timers say:

Watch the livestock in the fields. If the cattle are just laying around
chewing their cud, don't bother. If they are up and actively feeding go
ahead.

Go fishing ahead of a storm front. The barometric change will stimulate
feeding in most cases. After the storm there is an abundance of food
washed into the water.
