I have an Acer Aspire 3002LCI laptop an use wicd on Kubuntu 8.04. I'm
visiting my daughter in Florida and wifi won't connect.

On the way down, we stayed in a motel with unsecured network. When I tried to
connect wicd showed 4 unsecured networks:

2009/04/08 21:24:12 :: Using wireless interface...wlan0
2009/04/08 21:24:12 :: autoconnecting... wlan0
2009/04/08 21:24:12 :: scanning start
2009/04/08 21:24:12 :: ifconfig wlan0 up
2009/04/08 21:24:12 :: iwlist wlan0 scan
2009/04/08 21:24:13 :: scanning done
2009/04/08 21:24:13 :: found 4 networks:
2009/04/08 21:24:13 :: 00:20:A6:5B:32:C6
2009/04/08 21:24:13 :: 00:A0:C5:B8:69:98
2009/04/08 21:24:13 :: 00:A0:C5:F2:70:09
2009/04/08 21:24:13 :: 00:20:A6:5B:95:FB

I was never able to connect.

When I got to my daughter's house and set up on the same desk as her router,
wicd showed "No wireless networks found."

2009/04/11 11:17:08 :: Using wireless interface...wlan0
2009/04/11 11:17:08 :: autoconnecting... wlan0
2009/04/11 11:17:08 :: scanning start
2009/04/11 11:17:09 :: ifconfig wlan0 up
2009/04/11 11:17:09 :: iwlist wlan0 scan
2009/04/11 11:17:10 :: scanning done
2009/04/11 11:17:10 :: found 0 networks:

My daughter has a couple of laptops logged on to her router. They also can
see networks at neighbors next door and across the street.

I don't have any problem connecting to my router at home.

Any ideas what I can do to fix it?
