Guidance power manager; bugs?

Hi,

I've moved to Kubuntu 8.10 beta, and I've found a problem with guidance-power-
manager; in 8.04 I was using klaptopdaemon & Kde 3.5.10, because I found the
same problem there.

I use to have the battery stored in its bag (it's a Sony TZ11 laptop);
powering on with no battery inserted means the icon shows as is it had a fully
charged battery, and I get no information about the battery if inserted when
online.

The information in /proc/acpi/battery is displayed and actualized fine (I'm
using "watch -n2 cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state" to monitor it).

On the other hand, if the laptop has the battery inserted when powering on,
everything seems to work fine; it shows the actual charge, and removing or
adding the battery online works as expected.

Any help? The "about" option shows https://launchpad.net/guidance, but it
seems not to be up to date, nor am I able to post a bug.

Thanks  ;)
