I grew up in a small town in SE Pennsylvania, and moved to Philadelphia (40 
miles away).  When we asked for cokes, it was a generic synonym for cola.  It 
always used to puzzle me when I moved to the city when people would 
respond, "No Coke. Pepsi OK?"
