Yes, thanks to my original query I was reminded that last year I set had 
up an account with Gmail. At the time I didn't like it much so I just 
forgot all about it. So now I have looked at it again and what a 
difference. It is like a new product.

Anyway I have now set it up to my liking and have added it to 
Thunderbird using IMAP. So now I will be able to use it as a web email 
client while I am away and as a normal email client on my own computer 
once I am back home. Great.
