Hm, it does not crash for me, at least.
I'm running KDE4 on 8.04 since a few weeks, and the only missing thing
so far is Kontact, not available in its KDE 4 version because of the
Akonadi developement delay. The KDE 3 version keeps running mad on
memory and CPU usage so I don't use it and alternatively read my mail
by gmail and use other tools for the rest.
But over all, I'm quite happy with it
Do get rid of compiz if you have been using it so far, as it's not
running on KDE 4 and, frankly, there is no need of it with the new
desktop effects KDE 4 is offering.
btw, this is running on an 3 year old Acer TravelMate with 500 Mb Ram
with an equally old ATI Radeon 9600 graphic card.
