Konqueror is not based on Firefox.  If I am not mistaken, Konqueror's
engine was written from scratch and is called KHTML.  The engine for
Firefox (Gecko) was taken from Netscape (when they opened their source
code).  Apple's Safari web browser is a derivative of the KHTML
engine, but there is no relationship between the engine of Konqueror
and Firefox.
