Typically, I put bootable operating systems on primaries and 
data/storage partitions on logical drives. My wife just 
makes the first partition on each physical drive a 
primary...all other partitions are logical drives in the 
extended space. Doesn't seem to cause her any problems. 

It's not something we can talk about without starting a 
fight.
