on you macs you need to enable sharing under system settings. set it up to
both allow ssh and ftp and you can use either of those functions quite
easily to transfer material back and forth. i use fish:// in konqueror to
connect to my mac mini which has an external hd, and this allows me to act
as if teh external hd is connect to my kubuntu laptop~ even if i go out of
teh house and use the free internet in the library or cafe.
