user account crash

Use a virtual console.  Press Ctrl-Alt-F1.  Since that doesn't use
XWindows, hopefully it won't crash.  I don't know why everything is
crashing,  though.  Check the logs once you're in a VT.  Maybe something
in your home directory is read-only that shouldn't be?
