Looking for a USB video adapter compatible with Kubuntu and XawTV

Doe anybody know of a USB video adapter compatible with Kubuntu and 
XawTV.  I just bought a Mallincam CCD Video device for my telescope and 
am anxious to see it's output on my Kubuntu laptop.  The USB adapter 
that came with it (GA-VD201) does not work with XawTV.  (/dev/video did 
not get created).
