Recovery from Suspend(Standby)

When I installed Feisty Suspend/Resume worked flawlessly. Somewhere down 
the line, it has stopped working. It will suspend but it will not 
resume. I can see there is a little bit of disk activity when I try to 
resume but then the laptop hangs. Cycling power seems to be the only way 
out. Hibernation seems to work just fine. Poking around on Google showed 
that this has been a recurring problem. What I did not find was a fix. 
Has anybody else out there had the problem and resolved it?
