Launch application on second Display

I was hoping that someone would know the parameters I would need to pass 
an application when launching it to have it load on a second display.  I 
have a MythTV frontend running on my desktop which is connected to a TV 
in another room.  The only way I can get it to launch now is to have the 
icon on the second display (TV in the other room) and run back and forth 
between rooms till I get the mouse cursor lined up on the icon.  Google 
isn't much help as every page I end up at is talking about setting up 
dual-displays which has never been an issue with my setup.
