Noisy DVD player

Well to be more clear, when you play a movie the player only needs to
run at 1X but it runs at 52X making a bunch of noise, at least on my
system. When it runs at 1X it makes very little noise.

So since writing, I have found 2 things. First the first post was
right. You start your movie and then run SETCD -x1 and all is quiet.
The next thing I found is that the movie player (kaffein) program has
this build in but it does not work for some reason.

To add one more thing, the person who was talking about making drives
quiet. I have in my box hung the hard drive in the cd drive slot (it
is bigger) with those hair rubber band thingies. this is cheap and
works with most boxes. It made the drives go from very loud to almost
unhearable.
