hald daemonzing failures have frustrated me once again. I think the only
solution is a clean reinstall.
I have painstakingly customized the combination of packages for this machine
to included what I want. What is the best backup, clean reinstall, and
restore strategy?
PS /usr/local /home and /etc are all on the same partition.
