Well cool. I tried the same with Konqueror and it's the same, once you are in 
large icon mode, you get a good preview of the fonts. A double-click in 
either browser will open a bigger preview. 

I recall now, that I did not like the 'icon-view' concept and wanted to look 
for fonts based on a sample string I could type in. Also, it was slow to draw 
the icons of the fonts in a folder, but it does work and I forgot all about 
it.

That's interesting. I have not had time to be methodical about OO. I would 
appreciate any info you find in that regard.
