Update Manager Needs Update & STOPS WORKING-RESOLVED

Thanks to Jerry, Huston, and Anthony Baldwin for their help.  I tried
'frankensteining' different commands together and I think I have it.
I got the update manager to update without a problem.  However, it
still seems to lock up on me when using the GUI.  This may be low ram.
 But in everyone's trying to help, I have learned how to use terminal
to make the updates.  So what?  I have to view them on the GUI then
use terminal to install?  Okay with me.  It willl help me learn my
commands!  Thanks again for everyone's help!  I now consider myself a
Linux Fan!  =)

P.S.  I am glad there is such a list with such nice people who are
willing to offer advice.  I agree with the sentiment that an expert
isn't always the best to ask-but a person with REAL experience.  You
guys "got it goin' on."
