Upgrading from 6.10 to 7.04

Ace,

yes, you will loose your applications, but only binaries and libraries.

What is important is their configuration, you will keep them! 
Configurations are stored in your home directory (~/.kde for example) !!!

The apps come back during initial system and further installation.
