Edgy to Feisty upgrade fails

I get the following error from the "update-manager -c":

Failed to fetch 
http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/edgy-updates/main/source/Sources.gz 
Sub-process gzip returned an error code (1)


I can fetch this file manually with wget.  But I can't get past this 
error.  I've updated Edgy and updates have always worked fine.  Any ideas???
