aptitude & bash completion

Well that's swell, but as I mentioned, I am using Kubuntu Dapper (6.06).  I 
also mention that the current bash completion does work., so I am not 
surprised that it works in Edgy.  My questions are

1) is there an upgrade possible for Dapper?, or, if not,

2) What do I need to add if I hand code it?
