Audio garbled when video is displayed

Neither do I.
if you open a shell and enter:
sudo lsmod | grep nvidia
you'll either confirm my guess by seeing the nvidia modules, or confirm me
wrong by seeing nothing. (unless someone knows of a different name for the
nvidia module.)
