1st, the floppy drive, my PC didn't come with a floppy drive so I have
to remember how it was set up on an old PC.
I don't think you can auto-mount a floppy disk because there is no way
for the system to know if a floppy is in the drive unless it trys to
read it i.e. mount it, but you can put a link to it on the desktop (if
it's not already there) and allow users to mount it by adding them to
the floppy group and making sure something like "/dev/fd0 /media/floppy
auto rw,noauto, user, sync 0 0" is in /etc/fstab. The most important bit
being "user", which will allow any user of the "floppy" group to mount
(and write to) the floppy drive.

And about setting up the computer for internet connection, it depends on
how your connecting to the internet.
Usually you have to go in to "Network Settings" inside "Kmenu-->System
Settings". This will let you setup static IP's on Ethernet devices or
use DCHP.
