Subject: k-help! kbuntu printer dies on AMD-64
Sender: mailman-bounces at lists.ubuntu.com
I've been running *kbuntu 5.10 breezy *on an old PIII for a while but
have now moved to the 64-bit version on my new AMD-64 PC. On the old
(32-bit) system my printer (Samsung ML-1710P, parallel port) works
perfectly (with the kbuntu drivers). On the new (64 bit) system,
k-printer finds the printer and identifies it correctly, just as before,
but there it stops. The test page doesn't print. I've tried changing the
(.ppd) driver file but that doen't make any diference. My Samsung
printer and 64-kubuntu aren't talking. Any ideas?
