Partition

I solved the problem by deleting my newly created partitions and then resuming 
the installation.  Now the ubuntu installer sees my current partitions and 
the remaining free space.  It may have had to do with the order of the 
partitions on the disk.  I created hda 1,5,6,7,3,4,8.  The installer ended up 
with 1,5,6,7,8,9,3.
On to other problems.
