how to disable media:/ feature?

No such daemon in KDE 3.4.3.  Could it be Kmilo?

Someone sent me a suggestion to "Have a look at
/etc/ivman/IvmConfigActions.xml and comment out the annoying parts. So
at least the opening of Konqueror could be avoided..."

That worked but did not restore the appearance of the desktop icon, so I
restored the default version of the xml config file, and tried to do it
the way you suggested.

Any ideas for fixing this in KDE 3.4.3?
