Syncing Palm

I just bought a Palm Z22 and was impressed the way that Kpilot
automatically configured it and synced. I was even able to load a Bible
study program onto the Palm.

However, since that first successful connection Kpilot refuses to
connect again. I have tried disconnecting the Palm (usb) and
reconnecting, closing Kpilot and restarting it.

As an alternative option I installed gnome-pilot-conduits but can't
figure out how to start it (I'm using KDE). I can sync using Evolution
but I want to be able to install other apps.

Also, how can I remove apps that I have installed from my Palm?
