Mac-Mini: Ubuntu single boot fails!

Dunno? Maybe I'm even more stupid than I thought I was?

Blanked the whole Mac-Mini hard disk and installed Ubuntu
5.10 PPC: lovely, smooth install: no boot!!!

This worked with the Beta install!!!

Wonder why?
