scanner Benq 3300U problems [SOLVED]

just for the archives:

The Benq 3300U is using the following firmware: 

u176v046.bin

after adjusting the entry in the /etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf everything worked 
fine. Also, please notice taht every change I was making, in order to have it 
implemented I had to re-power the scanner!
