scanner Benq 3300U problems

I'll do so and thanks for the guidelines but there is one strange thing.

The PC I'm using kubuntu, it did run withXP before and when using the kubuntu 
live CD, it was NO problem to recognize the scanner and perform a scanning as 
well!!! Why is that?
