When Kubuntu was released (it was the day when KDE 3.4.3 was released)
it eveidently included KDE 3.4.2. I was a little disappointed, but still
downloaded the install cd to make the factual installation procedure
faster on a not so fast connection.
Now I find that after running apt-get dist-upgrade I am downloading the
KDE 3.4.3 from the internet, and, what is more strange - from the main
ubuntu repositories. My downloaded CD is quite useless...
And I find in all Kubuntu 5.10 release announcements, that the version
of KDE included in Kubuntu is actually 3.4.3. And there is no mention of
the update in any of the announcements. I wonder, if the iso images are
also updated?
That seems to be quite messy, and it messed up my quick upgrade :( .
What are the reasons for this quick and silent shift?
