Ok it does not work with WPA-PSK/network manager plasmoid/karmic (same way as already described).
It used to work with  Jaunty.
I do work well with wicd.
I can test whatever is needed to solve that problem.
Which logs do you need (from network manager and/or wicd)?
Let's see if we can kill this bug.
