@Brian, As far as I can remember, I haven't done any theme changes, and I'm having the same glitch on more than one computer.
Again, it's not that "Security updates" is completely lost, it's just that you have to scroll up to see it.
Isn't the screenshot I attached giving you any hint here? If not, come
back with more detailed instructions of how I can find out what you need
to know. Thanks!

As seen in the attached screenshot, "Important Security Updates" (or,
is not shown when you bring the dialog up initially. When scrolled
upwards, the headline becomes visible.
This was not the case in earlier versions of Ubuntu, IIRC.
