The linux kernel appears to be suggesting you boot with the "irqpoll"
option.

When you pop the cdrom in and boot, you'll initially get a splash screen
like this:

I think you press <F6> to pass options to the kernel.  You should try
passing it "irqpoll".  This apparently doesn't always work, but give it a
bash and let us know how you get on.
