problem installing edubuntu

Thanks for the help!

OK, I pressed F6 and typed "irqpoll" at the end of the list of boot 
options, which now read as follows:

Boot Options z ramdisk_size=16384 root=/dev/ram rw quiet -- irqpoll

Now it comes up with exactly the same response, except that after the 
first repetition the following appears:

starting system log daemon: syslogd, klogd

Then the screen goes blank and the machine crashes.

Any more ideas?
