Edubuntu Council

hi,
i'd be really happy to have someone involved in university stuff in the
council. out of the following reasons:
a) when we started the edubuntu summit back before our first release,
mark made a rought roadmap of goals he'd like to see for edubuntu:
1) classroom
2) school
3) municipalities/universities
indeed we're not even beyond 1) yet, but for example the optional
"plain" theme we'll ship with dapper is the first attempt to move into
a rather grown up direction and having a rather dry and scientific
desktop. even if 2) is our next target, preparing roughly for 3)
(through i.e. an edubuntu-universe-chemistry or
edubuntu-universe-physics metapackage ... put in your preferred science
here) will be the right thing to do.
additionally you are actively involved in ubuntu development since quite
some time, having someone who deeply knows the tech side with us in the
council would also be great. and as a last point i think we should have
someone covering non european timezones in the council.
so while i think its is out of question that we'll see jonathan as an EC
member (the response in the other mails was overwhelming, which i'm
really happy about) i'd like to express my support for your application
with that mail.
:)
ciao
oli
