I, William 'jawn-smith' Wilson re-apply for core-dev. I have added my
application to the agenda for Nov 29, 2021.
I have updated my application with steps I have taken to improve my ability
to contribute to Ubuntu as a core developer:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/jawn-smith/CoreDeveloperApplication . I will also
provide a short summary in this thread:
One of the main pieces of feedback I received during my first application
was my lack of SRU experience, and the fact that many of the SRUs I had
done were total backports rather than SRUs that cherry-pick small changes.
I have written the SRU templates and created the debdiffs for LP: #1938442
LP: #1913656 and LP: #1944475 . I have also created a patch and performed
SRU verification (after somebody else filled out the SRU template) for LP:
#1923352. While I am still waiting to have some of these uploaded, I
believe they demonstrate my understanding of the SRU template and how to
cherry pick minor code changes.
I have also completed the Go 1.17 transition, and read a good amount of
documentation to better understand transitions and seeds, and other useful
concepts.
I have kept my calendar clear this time in case this meeting runs long
again.
Thank you for your consideration,
William
