That's exactly what I would expect to be covered by reading the “What's
New” document; the task of chasing pointers then becomes the job of the
people authoring that document, not the job of every recipient of
Bazaar.

Which feeds into your “more work for Bazaar devs” point, but I assume
that's what Martin is requesting.
