Bazaar, Subversion and Symbolic Links

I tried to submit a bug report but Launchpad just said Oooppss and
crashed.

It seems impossible to branch the Scala trunk Subversion repository,
same symbolic link problem as with the Unison Subversion repository --
though note this isn't a bzr-svn issue, it is a bzr issue (I think).  I
think this needs to be handled better by Bazaar than simply crashing as
it does now.  The branch should succeed with a warning instead of
almost, but not quite, succeeding.  Especially after 21000s of activity.

NB  The branch is actually there, it is just that no working tree is
creatable.
