Please, let's go without this insinuation.

On Windows bzr never change x-bit AFAICT, but keep the one in inventory.
So Windows is above suspicion.

Most likely Viktor's coauthor uses FAT/FAT32 filesystem with Linux.
Maybe copy the files across 2 computers via USB flash or something similar.

You can use x-bit plugin to inspect x-bit value in the inventory and chmod
your files appropriately.
