Have you done anything but think, do you maybe have a branch/draft?
because I'm also interested in this, and would also consider working on it.
On a different thread, I descussed this with Aaron,
and sort of said, that if a (bound) commit fails due
to network issues, a commit --local should be done
automatically and warn you. So that your commit
still happens. Most importantly for me, I don't want
to loose my well thought out masterpiece of a
commit message, if my network dies without warning
while I'm bussy.
