That sounds a lot like the first problem we had, with the archive being
called "robey at lag.net--2003-public" in one place and
"robey at lag.net--2003" in the other.

Try changing the line to this:
        assert self.__revision == self['Archive']+'/'+self['Revision'],
(self.__revision, self['Archive'], self['Revision'])
