If you're using a snap, it could be that the location of those files
inside the snap is not the same as in your "normal" home directory. 
Remember that snaps run inside a restricted container and don't have
full access to the system, that's one of their major selling points.

They are supposed to be able to mount specific parts of your home
directory so they can access your profile, save content to Downloads,
etc. but maybe that's not working.

However, your message confuses me because first you say you're using
snap, then you say you used the mozillateam ppa.  PPAs are not used for
installing snaps, as far as I'm aware.  They are for distributing
native DEB packages.
