The logoff/shutdown/restart button is there. The reason you can't see it -
and probably the menu either - is your display resolution (I found out this
at my own expense when it happened to me).
Right click and change your display resolution until you find the correct
one that allows the whole desktop to be properly displayed on the screen.
But if you are in a hurry, open a terminal and just type shutdown -now
