[xubuntu-users] Where Are My Panel Configurations Really Stored?

Hello all,

I'm trying to find out where the panel configuration files are stored. I 
have searched online and found that they may be stored in 
~/.config/xfce4, however, even after restoring that whole directory from 
backup I cannot get my lost panels back. I have since learned how to use 
the 'Backup and Restore' panel feature, but since the loss happened 
before I used that tool, that does not help me now. What I do have is a 
regular backup of my entire home directory going back about a month. 
But, I cannot seem to find the right files to restore my panels.

Then I read about some configuration files being stored in 
$XDG_CONFIG_DIRS - but that looks like a variable to me and not an 
actual location. I just want to restore my panels from my backup files, 
but cannot find the right ones. Any suggestions?

Running Xubuntu 20.04.2 LTS / XFCE 4.14
